First Open Assembly For March Solidarity Cafe (plus a report back from the feb cafe)

The Dalston Solidarity Cafe is a space that connects a diversity of collectives, realities and individuals who by sharing their knowledge and experience will be able to offer a range of mutualistic practices. These can help the community to improve our condition and happiness, beyond the “survival mode” today’s society forces us to be in.

Open assembly to organise the next March Cafe as well as discussing the project’s future prospects.

Location: Dalston Curve Garden, 13 Dalston Lane, E8 3DF

Time: 6.30-8pm on the 17th of February

This is an outdoor event. Please still wear a mask unless you’re exempt. The garden is wheelchair accessible and they have blankets and hot water bottles available. Some of the seating area also have got heating lamps. We won’t tolerate any racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic and any other discriminatory behaviour.

Open assemblies will be every 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 6.30pm. The next open assembly for the March Cafe will be on the 3rd of March.

Report Back From February Cafe

Last Saturday was wild!

Last Saturday was amazing!

What a turnout!

Internal sources say there might have been 150 people while the BBC keep claiming Halk Evi doesn’t even exist! But we all know that none of this matter. The only thing that matter is we spent a whole day of love and solidarity together and that day was memorable.

Thanks to whoever was there. Thanks to the people who rescued food and the ones who cooked it. Thanks to Gutter Gear for setting up that amazing infoshop. Thanks to the Zapatista Solidarity Network for the treasures they brought from Chiapas (especially the delicious coffee none of us could stop drinking). Thanks to Hackney Copwatch for holding an incredibly good Know Your Rights workshop. Thanks to Exarchia and Rouvikonas for existing really (and if you haven’t yet, we highly recommend watching the documentary “Love & Revolution”, free on Youtube). Thanks to whoever stayed over to help cleaning and closing the space.

We hope to see you all, together with many new faces, at the next cafe.

As always, everyone is invited to our next open assembly happening on the 17th February at 6.30pm (most likely) at Dalston Curve Garden. We’re working on an indoor space for meetings as well though. Stay with us.

Finally, we suggest you check Autonomous Winter Shelter if you want to take part to a couple of very important actions they’re organising this week. Check their page for more info.

Stay safe out there.

Take care of each other.

Fall in love, not in line.
